Company History

At the turn of the century, Clarence Charles (C.C.) Hobart was inventing side-by-side with Thomas Edison in Middletown, Ohio. When the lab caught on fire, both inventors went looking for a new home. C.C. Hobart settled in Troy, Ohio along the banks of the Great Miami river and the Hobart family businesses began. The industrial Hobart family name is responsible for many pages of steel and welding history. Hobart Cabinet Company was founded in 1907 by C.C. Hobart, who began by manufacturing wood cabinets for the storage of parts used in the manufacture of early electric systems; and appliances such as: generators, lighting systems, dynamos, and the first electric coffee mill. After the universal small parts cabinets came small letter and office filing cabinets and desks.

To be in continuous operation for a century is rare and demonstrates solid ethics, dedication to our customers, devoted and skilled employees, quality products, and unique product offerings that meet our customer's needs. Martin Hobart represents the company's fourth generation at the helm of the family business.

Since our beginning, Hobart Cabinet Company has been devoted to specializing in organization for unique applications. Our niche has been with small and uniquely-sized storage systems like our universal and flat file cabinets designed with our trademark industrial quality.

Located in Troy, Ohio, within about an hour of both Columbus and Dayton, Ohio, the Hobart Cabinet Company is within six hours of such major markets as Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Louisville. Being centrally located in the midwest allows us to respond quickly to your requirements.

Our Cabinets Include

Super-strong all-steel construction. Our paint application systems are designed to create a durable commercial finish. We offer flat file cabinets for blueprints and other large documents, industrial cabinets for storage of small parts, fasteners, tools, and miscellaneous shop items, pharmacy cabinets for safe storage of prescriptions, orthodontic cabinets for storage of dental molds and braces, office products cabinets to store cancelled checks and important papers, and a complete line of organizational storage solutions for small and uniquely shaped contents.
